I have already updated 2 x PC's in my house which came from Windows 8.1 installs I performed. Thanks for chiming in Kronical_420, but I think we are in a little bit of a different situation.

as a side note when I ran the upgrade it said - my language would be changed - does this maybe have something to do with it? or can you swap between en_us / en_uk - which is what I assume its doing? Or did I get sent a dodgy windows 8.1 key. I really don't want to have to wait for 48 hours just to have it stay the same and have to ring back anyway. What worries me is - will it even activate - and do I have a unique problem - because I cant seem to find this error code in any other posts on the internet yet. Two others said - the servers are slow etc and to leave it upto 48 hours. Microsoft reps twice tried to put me through to the tech support dept - and it cut off twice. I am now getting windows 10 is not activated - This product key doesn't work you may need to get in touch with the shop or company you brought Windows from, or you can buy a new key from Microsoft.
